I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looting For
by Chris Cecil
(To
the tune of “I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For”, with apologies
to U2)
I have delved deepest dungeon.
I have run from some fiends.
Snagged by a trap or two
With my adventuring crew.
I have run.
I have crawled.
I have scaled some cavern walls
Those mossy walls
Picked up a coin or two.
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
I have slain giant-kin.
Received Healing from priest fingertips.
Faced the undead’s ire
With greedy desire.
I have spoke in the tongue of devas.
I have thumbed my nose at a devil.
I have won many fights.
I was once Turned to Stone
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
I once ransacked an elf kingdom.
Then all my party made off with their dough.
Yes, relics too.
Well, yes, we’re still running.
I picked some locks and I
rummaged in caves.
Invaded tunnels;
Monsters slain.
Oh, what gain.
You know I deserved it.
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
But I still haven’t found what I’m looting for.
